How true cost works
No double countFormula
- Total income = gross + tips
- Vehicle operating = total miles × cost-per-mile
- Direct = fuel + tolls + other fees
- True net = income − vehicle − direct
- True hourly = true net ÷ hours
Why separate fuel?
Fuel changes per shift and per price. Cost-per-mile here covers wear, maintenance, depreciation, and insurance reserve — not fuel. You log fuel per shift so we never double count. That is also why the tracker shows operating profit before taxes. Not tax advice.
