Avis rental: hmmm…Toyota Camry qualifies as Comfort
I wanted a gas car rental, but all or most Avis (and Hertz?) locales in the Boston area (and probably (?) worldwide nowadays?) usually only offer EVs, unless one times it right for when and if a gas car is available.
So there was just one gas car available, so I felt fortunate to get it. Little did I know it was classified as an Uber Comfort category, eligible for higher-paying fares, that I started receiving Comfort calls. I get a decent number of Comfort requests in the Boston area. Not sure if other cities are the same.
Yes, the weekly rental price for Comfort cars is higher.
My question: do you consider a 2022 Camry deserving of a Comfort designation?
Would you be angry if I pulled up in such a car? Don’t you expect fancier when ordering Comfort?
I guess most pax might look closely in the app and note it’s “only” a Camry and be fine with that. Others might cancel…or could give a bad rating out of anger?
And maybe for some or most, it’s more about extra leg and/or trunk room, not so much about luxury?
Uber support today noted how just since 2020 has Camry even qualified as Comfort; I guess it was only a regular category until then. Maybe Camry indeed improved the model for 2020 and since?
