Evolve Bank (Uber Pro Card) discloses breach to Uber drivers finally
Within these downloaded files, Evolve identified the following personal data about you: Name, Contact Information, Evolve Account Number, Social Security Number and Date Of Birth
What happened? One of their rocket science workers clicked on a malicious email link. A big no-no in computer system security but according to my experience with them, they thought it was perfectly fine to send such email links to their customers. I balked of course and quit using their card immediately after realizing how stupid their computer security was.
If you read carefully above, it seems they were compromised for a few months before discovering it as well.
Anyway I suggest getting LifeLock and signing up for this free monitoring service as well, even if you didn’t use the Uber Pro Card because those at Uber are not very swift in the brains department neither.
