• Getting Puke cleanup fees

    Hi,
Uber has been awful about reimbursing for puke clean up fees.
The last time someone puked in my car… I immediately kicked them out and rushed to a car wash to start cleaning. There was quite a bit in the well because no one told me she was throwing up.
I spent 2.5 hours on a Saturday night cleaning up… ended my night. (I Had to use special chemicals that I carry now because I have a very strong sense of smell and cannot tolerate air fresheners.)
I had to continue with a follow up for an hour or more the next day… A professional cleaning of the same would have cost me hundreds. I sent pics and all and Uber refused to reimburse me. They said they wanted a receipt…

WHERE THE HELL are you going to get a professional puke cleanup at 1 am in Charlotte??? and there is no way I am putting up $200-$400 before being assured I will be reimbursed.

An actual bio hazzard clean up would be a bit more than that. If it is a cab, they have to take it out of service until cleaned correctly… or so I am told.

So I carry enzymatic cleaners and more so I can deal with this situation if it happens again. These cost money…

I sent them a receipt, albeit one from me… they still refused.

so I am out of the time i could have been working, the pay I deserve for cleaning the car… The cost of materials and paying for vaccume extractor time at the car wash and the stress. I should have gotten $300 for the damages.
(My car is mint and spotless! not a POS) (But it will be if Uber has their way)

So how do we get the money we deserve???

Someone puked without telling me and although it was a little and in my new floor mats… I cleaned it up quick and asked uber for $30 for the clean up. I also wound up getting a violent stomach virus because I did not wear gloves as I first thought it was some kind of hygiene product.

    uber gave me nothing.

There are things I do that are not honorable anymore, but to protect myself. There is a line I will not cross and I will never screw over a passenger… but there are things I will not do… and now I have ZERO tolerance.
