• Hitch rideshare app and rideshare addendum

Many of you might have already heard the Hitch Ride Share app – at least here in Houston we have it which is for long distance trip like Austin, Dallas, College Station….. etc. I wanted to use Hitch as I receive quite a lot trip offers but I cant because when I asked Hitch agent if they provide insurance, they said no. I dont have rideshare addendum in my own insurance so I have 2 questions if you guys can help me out with this – one is about Hitch and one is about insurance

1- Those of you who used Hitch, what happens if there is no return trip? Hitch says they will pay for the return trip if they can’t find one but when will they pay it? How long should I wait until I can get back to my initial destination? Can I just drive back as soon as I drop the customer if there is bo return trip? Did anyone experience this? Also, is the pay decent?

2- More importantly, I am checking rideshare addendum to add to my insurance – or a new insurance company – but all I read is that it only covers when you are online but did NOT ACCEPT the trip request yet. To me what is important is to be covered during the trip and Hitch does not provide any insurance either – at least Uber/Lyft provides this where deductible is 2000$ I believe. How do you handle such case if you are using Hitch

    Thanks
