I think you’ll need to pay me a $150 deposit tonight
So I rolled up on my first pickup. Two guys come out carrying a third guy. I roll my window down keeping the doors locked.
“sorry guys he’s too drunk not gonna take you”
“He’s not going to throw up”
“no… sorry many. Pass out in the bushes a few hours and try again when he can stand up.”
“I’ll give you an extra $20”
“This is my first fare, We both know he’s gonna throw up, so because it’s Saturday night I know I can’t get a different taxi which means it will be my last fare. So I need $150, plus the meter, or I can’t risk taking you”
“He’s not going to throw up”
“if your so sure up take the $150 as a security deposit, if the car isn’t as dry as it is now I’ll give you the $150 back.
So I get $180 off them before I open the door.
5 minutes down the road I hear puking followed by “damn it Evan”
I get them there and they get out, zero discussion of getting the security deposit.
I turn around and drive to the shop.
Suprsingly there was a car available.“no key Stevie. You can hang out and maybe someone will turn a car in.
nah.. take care.
$180 and here I am sitting at ihop.
il have to pay a few bucks but I turned in a $75 cab 11 hours and 22 minutes early.
I just don’t understand people.
