You don’t understand.
1. What we have a problem with is; Uber doesn’t include ‘Commerical Insurance’ as part of their ‘Service Fee’.
2. ‘commerical insurance’ doesn’t change in cost dependent on time of day, ow how many people are requesting an Uber.
3. Uber can surge on Passenger App, but not display it on Driver app.
4. I’ve had several trips with similar mileage, Similar Pickup and drop off, and the pay varies Substantially.
5. My Pay per Trip shouldn’t vary depending on where my drop off is. I’m Providing the same very work, with destination being the only difference. That’s the same destination discrimination Uber accused drivers of, earlier before, and threatened with deactivation.
6. I should NOT have to log into my Driver Dashboard (that reject my login attempts and says Login Denied) to get a full breakdown of their fees, when they’re a ‘Technology Company’ and can provide all of that In-App.
7. Uber Service Fee should be inclusive of ‘Commerical insurance’ and should also be capped at 30%.
8. Uber shouldn’t be allowed to cry wolf when asked to pay us more. When the defense is ‘cost would rise, and demand would plummet’, when they’re already charging the cost that it would take to pay drivers more, while keeping the difference for themselves.
I’ve been driving since 2018. When rate cards were alive, and when they would force us to go offline after 3 consecutive trips being declined, when we had Surge Multipliers.
Give
UberX $1.05/mile; $0.25/min
Comfort $1.30/mile; $0.35/min
Comfort Electric/XL$1.50/mile; $0.40/min
Premier $1.65/mile; $0.65/min
Black/BlackSUV$2.25/mile; $.90/minFor a Company ran by people with college degrees, it doesn’t surprise me…
they’re about Extracting as much as they can out of each passenger and customer EACH and EVERY time they use Uber services.
if Uber were to be FORCED to pay drivers More, they can simply REDUCE their ‘Take’ (inclusive of commercial insurance) while keeping ride costs similar, and keeping the rider satisfied and more likely to use Uber again. VOLUME over long term, rather than Profit for short term.
stop exploiting me, damn it

In my former market the only thing taken out was an apx 24% Uber fee.
No insurance, city, state or airport fees because it is a Red state and they keep their tax fingers out of businesses who are trying to give people work. No income tax neither for workers and no supermarket tax (prepared food yes).
Instead they taxed the wealthy, if you owned a second home, they figure you can afford the higher taxes. If your only home, they allow homestead exemption which drastically lowered property taxes.
So as far as these other fees, it all depends what sort of state you live in. Blue or Red, or basically what the Blue coats have done over the years to impose more taxes that Uber is required to take on your behalf.
And Lyft likes to brag it only take 30% plus fees. 😆
Make more money, drive for Uber.
Lyft is a loser.
