Uber is superior for $$ and why you shouldn’t bother with Lyft
It really comes down to one thing.
Uber Eats and it’s wait staff like tipping system.
Customers using UE get presented with a 10% 14% 18% and 20% tipping buttons as well as a custom amount.
Uber driver just gets lame amounts like $1, $5 etc. and it’s an extra effort to enter a custom amount.
So customers who order a ton of food delivered can tip and the driver (hopefully) gets a percentage of that..which can be very lucrative.
Lyft doesn’t do deliveries period, only ridesharing.
Also with Uber one thing reinforces the other, ridesharing reinforces deliveries and vise versa.
With Lyft it’s just a dead end, ridesharing for cheapo’s who don’t tip.
Lyft likes to say “Who wants to stink up their vehicles with food?”
But the real deal is people are doing gig work to make the most money in the shortest time possible..so doing short rides and Uber Eats is where the money is at.
The smell usually doesn’t last long and there’s Ozioum to neutralize any leftovers and pax farts.
I suspect one day a deal will be brokered between Lyft and any leftover food delivery companies that haven’t been bought out by big Daddy Uber. But until then Uber is the money making king for drivers, not Lyft.
So why shouldn’t you bother with Lyft? Because UE makes more money for less work, you don’t want to be tied down on some Lyft run less a extremely profitable UE trip comes in
In fact many UE couriers I look at their profile and they do very little rides. Preferring to remain always available for food deliveries. Likely because Uber (and Lyft) doesn’t pay well and customers are presented with lame tipping options.
However according to tipping experts, drivers should be tipped on the same scale options like wait staffn which UE does and Uber driver and Lyft don’t.
Of the two Uber is clear winner as both are on them same app, not conflicting with one another on the same phone.
Because of the conflict over network connections and performance, it’s best to run each app on their own phone.
