Indy safety plan, road closures, and rideshare options
While the city is trying to get ready for the Eras Tour with large installations of Taylor Swift on the front of the JW Marriot downtown and Taylor Swift-themed street signs, public safety is also at the forefront for city officials.
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is almost here and the City of Indianapolis is preparing.
“We are fully staffed for this,” Indianapolis Metropolitan Police assistant chief Catherine Cummings said in a news conference outside the JW Marriott on Friday. “There are going to be officers that you see and … won’t see.”
Cummings said people will see officers on foot, on horseback, on ATV’s and in cars. They will be flying drones and the large number of officers will be downtown focused on Monument Circle and being around Lucas Oil Stadium.
She also said some officers will have Era’s Tour friendship bracelets that can be traded with Swift fans. The department wants people to engage with officers and have fun experience, but keep safety in mind.
There will be numerous road closures along with rideshare options for parents and concert-goers.
