
New Orleans police arrest CBD attempted carjacker
A man who was arrested inside a grocery store in the New Orleans Central Business District has had his bond set by a judge. Police say they arrested Joel Lee Miller after he tried to carjack a ride-share driver in the CBD before running inside the Rouses on Baronne Street. Miller is now facing several charges including attempted armed robbery. He is being held on his charges. A judge set Miller’s bond at $410,000 and ordered him to wear an ankle monitor. He also was ordered to stay away from Taco Del Cartel and Rouses. It’s not getting any better. Just more and more problems happening every day.”The business manager also said it takes too long for NOPD to respond when businesses in the area call due to crimes happening.WDSU has reached out to NOPD on this and the governor’s office and even the mayor on the recent homeless sweep. At the time of this publication, a response had not yet been received.
