Portland Man Plows Through Parade: Dashcam Reaction (Road Rage Straight To Jail)

Full length dashcam footage shows a Portland man plowing through blockades and nearly hitting several people including small children along the Rose Festival’s Grand Floral parade route in June, 2023.

Prosecutors used this shocking video, taken from Sidney Mecham’s own 3 channel dashcam, as evidence during the hearing.

With Yela Wolf music on full blast, Mecham heads toward the Rose Quarter in North Portland where he had planned to meet family members. ODOT crews had blocked off several exits to help keep traffic away from the parade. Mecham sped past and even plowed through several baricades.
3 cops tried to stop him but he got away. He eventually stopped in a residential area and was arrested shortly after.

Mecham pleaded not guilty to 38 counts, including felony unlawful use of a weapon and attempting to flee an officer. He’s currently serving his 5 year sentence in prison.
