3 Things To Check Before Accepting ANY Uber Ride Read More

A vanished tip is three different problems and each needs different evidence: added late, reduced after the fact, or never added at all. Screenshot the payout the day it lands and keep the weekly exports. Without that, support has nothing to look at and neither do you. Source: Rideshare Rodeo.

Watch this one for the mechanism, not the anger. When a bonus is measured against an active hour rather than against trips, waiting time counts toward the target and the premium per trip thins out. Screenshot the terms while the promotion is live, then judge it on net per engaged hour. Source: Rideshare Professor.

The re-verification prompt does not wait for a convenient moment. It blocks the next ride, and it tends to fire in a dark car park with one bar of signal. Do it the moment it appears rather than at shift start: light on your face, licence flat with all four corners in frame. Stop after two failed attempts, because… Read More

Should you tell your insurer you drive for Uber and Lyft? Yes. A personal policy that does not know you drive for hire can be voided at claim time, and that is the moment it matters. App cover only applies in certain periods, and there is a gap while you are online waiting for a request where app cover is limited… Read More

Uber is changing how surge is measured, toward an active hour rather than the trips themselves. The practical difference: waiting counts toward the target and the per trip premium gets thinner, so the same work pays differently depending on how busy your zone is. Screenshot the promo terms while they are live,… Read More

Lyft is asking some drivers to verify identity again, a face photo and a licence photo before the next ride. Do it the moment it appears rather than at the start of a shift, because the prompt blocks your next ride and it tends to fire at the worst time, in a dark car park or at an airport with bad signal. Good… Read More

Where did the tip go? Most vanished tips are one of three things, and they need different evidence. A tip added after the drop can appear days later, so check the trip again before assuming it is gone. A tip reduced after the fact leaves a trace in trip history, so screenshot the payout the day it lands. And a tip… Read More

A decline rule only works if it counts the whole job. An hourly target has to include the drive to the pickup and the drive back out of wherever it drops you, not just the paid leg, because a good looking rate that strands you twenty minutes from anything is a loss dressed as a win. Know the three or four drop zones… Read More

Restaurants marking an order ready before it is cooked is their problem, but the timestamps are yours to protect. Once you arrive, confirm arrival at the door rather than after ten minutes of standing there, and use the still waiting prompt as soon as it appears. That is what creates the compensation trail, and on a… Read More

Is a DoorDash status tier actually worth chasing? Tiers reward the behaviour that suits the platform, not the behaviour that pays you. Priority on higher paying orders only matters if those orders exist in your zone at the hours you work. The honest test: run two weeks at your normal standards, then two weeks… Read More

Can a ticket get your account deactivated? Background checks are rerun on a schedule, not only at signup, so something that passed last year can surface later. A criminal charge is treated differently from a traffic citation, and a dismissed charge still shows until the record is updated. The dispute goes through… Read More

Two delivery offers, $18 for 12.5 miles and $22 for 6.9 miles. As dollars per mile that is $1.44 against $3.19, and the shorter one has both pickups close together so the unpaid driving between stops is short. The trap in the longer one is the return leg: the miles after the drop are yours to eat getting back to a… Read More

Why does Lyft pay $12 for a 25 minute trip? Upfront pay is built from predicted time and distance, not what the trip actually takes, so a long run can price low if the estimate assumed clear roads. Check the minutes and miles on the offer card before accepting, and whether the pickup leg is included, because unpaid… Read More

Stop arguing about Uber's take rate and work out your own. Take one week, add what riders were charged on the trips where you can see it, add what actually landed in your account, and the gap is your real take rate for that week in your market. It moves by trip type and time of day, which is why one driver swears it… Read More

Uber's event bonuses are easy to miss and hard to claim. Geofenced promos key off where the pickup pin sits, not where you drop, so a trip that starts one block outside the zone looks identical to you and different to the system. The terms also disappear when the promo expires, so screenshot the terms and the zone… Read More

I drive for 10 hours at a time. These are the things I always have in my car, from Driver Eddie. A gear list that is actually about staying out for the whole shift. The two people skip: a mount that survives a hard stop, and a power bank kept charged for when the car socket dies mid… Read More

Nothing Good Happens After Midnight, from DarrenLevyOfficial. The late shift pays more per hour and costs more in everything else. Two habits keep it worth doing: end the night on a set time rather than on a number, and keep the camera running for the whole shift rather than switching it on once something… Read More

Uber Ride Gone Wrong, from Dustin Is Driving. The creator's own pinned line is the lesson: every driver needs a dash camera. Two details decide whether the footage is any use. A dual facing camera, so you capture what was said in the back as well as the road, and the lock clip button pressed before the loop… Read More

Uber and Doordash New Union Rules for Gig App Drivers, from Rideshare Rodeo. Whichever way you feel about sectoral bargaining, the practical step is the same: read the filed text rather than the summaries, and keep your own records now. Weekly earnings exports, trip history and any deactivation notice, saved off the… Read More

Uber's New Airport "Pickup Codes" Have One BIG Problem, from The Rideshare Guy. Pickup codes are meant to stop wrong-rider pickups at the terminal. The problem is what happens when the rider cannot find the code: the wait runs, the queue position is gone, and the driver eats it. Worth watching before your next… Read More

Affordable Dash Cam for DoorDash and Uber Eats Drivers, BOTSLAB G300H Plus, from Ride Along With Bri. Camera review aimed at delivery. One thing to add before you buy: 24/7 parking mode needs a hardwire kit with low voltage cutoff, or it will flatten the battery overnight. And most delivery disputes are about the… Read More

This High Paying Side Hustle Paid Me $130 For ONE Delivery, from Your Driver Mike. One job, $130, and the reason is that it cannot be stacked. Work that cannot be batched holds its rate. Everything that can be batched gets commoditised. That is the whole argument for direct booking in one… Read More

London Uber Driver Vlog, 11am to 11pm Sunday Shift, from Life In The Balance. A full twelve hour shift with the earnings shown. The number worth copying out of it is net per engaged hour: gross, minus fuel or charging, insurance, cleaning and the platform cut, divided by the hours the app actually had you moving.… Read More

Waymo's latest strategy: Teenagers, from Rideshare Professor. Teen accounts change who is actually in your back seat and what your insurance position is.
